Dallas Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a patient safety organization. This national distinction celebrates Dallas Medical Center’s achievements in prioritizing patient safety by protecting patients from preventable harm and errors.
Dallas Medical Center is the only hospital for nearly 10 miles to receive an “A” grade for Spring 2024. No other hospital in the Metrocrest area of Addison, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, or Las Colinas received an “A” grade.
Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. Over the last year, 81 percent of Prime’s hospitals across the country earned an “A” grade.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections, and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally.
